One of the amazing things about being a make-up artist is learning about my bride clients and their amazing love stories.
A few newlyweds have given me permission to share their stories so that other couples can learn some valuable tips and we can all ooh and aahh over the lucky twosome’s romantic story.
Here’s the story of Christine and Phill.
Christine says, “Meeting my husband cannot be described as anything but fate. You see, at the time of our meeting, we were total strangers and citizens of different countries on separate continents.” She goes on to relate that Phill made a random decision to accompany his friend, Jordan, to Canada to visit Jordan’s parents. While visiting Toronto, some mutual acquaintances were acting as tour guides and one of the stops was Queen’s Park during Christine’s lunch break. Christine shares, “I met Phill on a picnic bench at Queen’s Park. We stayed in touch and soon officially started dating. After completing my Bachelor of Education, I moved to England to be with him and it wasn’t long before we were engaged!”
But let’s not get ahead of ourselves with this love tale. Christine shares their engagement story, “Phill has always been one for grand gestures. I mean, he flew across the Atlantic to take me out on our first real date. He proposed in an equally exciting way. I was teaching in England, and Phill was in Iraq. Each rotation would take him away for weeks at a time, but we were counting down the days until his return in March.”
Both Phill and Christine’s birthdays are in February, but they were unable to celebrate together due to Phill working in Iraq. Phill told Christine to keep an eye on her email inbox because he had something special planned for a mini weekend getaway during his leave. He even asked Christine to take a few days off work so they could get away as soon as possible. To her astonishment, the email attachment was a pair of plane tickets to Dubai.
Christine says, “Shortly after (Phill) arriving home, we took off to the land of sun and sand. On our first night in Dubai at the Grosvenor House, Phill got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife.”
Now Christine is an unusual bride. She has married the same man twice. First, the pair eloped secretly. Then Phill and Christine decided to marry again in front of their parents and siblings. They were set to have a ceremony at Toronto City Hall. However, a blown transformer forced a building evacuation just minutes before the couple was to say their vows. In the chaos that ensued outside, Phill somehow found the officiant, and she married the couple in the beautiful gardens of Osgoode Hall. The press even covered their story as love prevailed despite the afternoon evacuation.
Love is amazing. It’s so thrilling to be a small part of these beautiful stories.
Christine has a testimonial for other brides. “Pamela was wonderful to work with. From my first makeup experience with her team to my trial, my wedding, and many events following, I never had to worry about quality or outcome. I trust her completely! Hire Pam! Seriously, you will be hard-pressed to find someone as talented and dedicated to their craft. Priceless Beauty understands the unique demands of wedding make-up – duration, photos, emotional moments – and they come prepared. On top of that, they are professional. They use great products and sanitation is key.”
Thanks, Christine, it was truly a pleasure getting to know you and being a part of this special story. Wishing you and Phill a lifetime of Priceless moments.
