To spray tan or not to spray tan before your trip?

But before you do….let me answer all the questions you probably have and a few you never thought of.
When should I get my spray tan before I travel?
About 24 hours before your flight is ideal. This gives you enough time to book your service, get your glow on, marinate and rinse before you board the plane. By the time you arrive you will have a super fresh flawless tan.
When should i do hair removal
If you’re waxing, plan ahead approximately 48 to 72 hours. If shaving, the same day is fine but you should do it at least four hours before your tanning appointment.
Can I shave while away?
Totally- just use an in-shower (spray tan safe) body lotion, or even hair conditioner, instead of shaving cream. It's too drying on the skin.
Should I contour?
That's totally up to do you. Do you want to be snatched? LOL We can do a mini or full contour based on your body type and desired results. There is an option for you.
How long will my tan last?
Spray tans typically lasts about six to 10 days. However, salt and chlorinated water can cause the tan to fade a little quicker than usual. But not worries - I have a few tips and recommendations for you to help .
Keep skin super hydrated. Use a spray tan safe body lotion - bonus if it has DHA in it! (the active ingredient that causes tan to develop). Grab your spray tan safe gradual tanning lotion HERE.
Pat or air dry when getting out of the water. No scrubbing or rubbing!
UV vs UVfree
UV beds will help you build a base….but is it worth damaging your skin?
The solution? UVFREE aka spray tanning. Wear sunscreen (as you always should) and go slow the first few days when you arrive. Be careful not to burn.
It's all about looking your best, but knowing you are being safe by protecting your skin.
What if I get burnt by the sun while I have a spray tan?
Just don’t. It's bad for your skin…it looks weird and it's a hard no. Wear the appropriate sunscreen and keep skin hydrated. If you do burn, you’ll need to treat your skin with aloe vera, shade and lots of water.
What do I wear during my spray tan?
Well the question really is do you want tan lines or no tan lines? Most clients wear a thong and go topless for their tanning session. We are comfortable with whatever you are comfortable with. Our tanning room is private and the whole tan only takes about 10 to 15 minutes. It's totally worth it not to have to worry about your tan lines not matching your bikini.
If you choose to wear garments, make sure they are dark and NOT brand new. Cuter tan lines have solid edges. Lace can get weird…LOL.
Do I get sprayed by a person or a machine?
Hi… I am Pamela. I will be your tanning artist. :) I used a professional grade sunless tanning machine to completely customize and perfect your tan to suit your skin tone, desired outcome and complexion.
How long until I can rinse off the solution?
Rapid tans can be rinsed within two to six hours; traditional tans within eight to 12 hours. It depends what time you come for your session, and when you are leaving to travel. We will make a recommendation which works best for you.
Can I still get a “ real tan” while I have a “ fake tan” ?
The answer is yes. Which means you should protect yourself as usual with SPF. Keep in mind that it may slow the process a little kind of like wearing makeup. But it is not protecting your skin. It’s all an illusion….don't be fooled. This is not a base. It's more like bronzer.
What if I sweat?
This is totally fine. It’s the tight friction of clothing with sweating which can cause tan to fade, rub off prematurely. Tips to solve this problem are:
Rinse off sweat when possible.
Keep skin hydrated with tan safe body lotion
If tan rubs off in area, gently exfoliate and apply gradual tanner to even out
Try to keep area dry - you can use baby powder in areas of friction and sweatier areas such as chest
Tan responsibly…choose a spray tan before you go babe!
