"Your spray tan is an investment in your beauty routine, and taking care of it with the right products is crucial for maintaining that flawless, sun-kissed glow."

  1. Oil-based products: Oil can break down the DHA in spray tan solution, causing it to fade or become uneven. To avoid this, stay away from oil-based lotions, moisturizers, and body washes before and after your spray tan.

  2. Exfoliating scrubs with microbeads: Microbeads are tiny plastic particles that are harmful to the environment and can scratch or damage your spray tan. Instead, opt for an exfoliating scrub that uses natural ingredients like sugar or salt.

  3. Bar soap: Bar soap can be too harsh on your skin and can strip away your spray tan faster than other types of body wash. Choose a gentle, sulfate-free body wash instead.

  4. Alcohol-based products: Alcohol can dry out your skin and cause your spray tan to fade faster. Avoid toners, astringents, and other alcohol-based products after your spray tan.

  5. Retinol products: Retinol is a powerful ingredient commonly found in anti-aging products, but it can cause your spray tan to fade faster. Don't use retinol products on your face and body for at least 24 hours before and after your spray tan.

  6. Petroleum-based products and Vaseline:  can create a barrier on your skin that prevents the spray tan solution from being absorbed evenly, so it's best to avoid them before and after your spray tan.

  7. Chlorine and salt water: Swimming in chlorine or salt water can cause your spray tan to fade faster, so it's best to avoid these activities for at least 24 hours after your spray tan. Or if this is not an option for our vacation goers be sure to rinse the salt water or chlorine off the body as quickly as possible off on your skin and use a gradual tanner to extend your tan.
